My View From Park Housing

A mixture of old, new older, and things to come. My housing for the summer is located in a cul-de-sac with original 1930s CCC era houses built for park staff. Construction is ongoing to restore these houses and convert them into seasonal housing. My own house is from its own distinct era, likely built during the years of Mission 66. My roommate remarked that similar houses were built across the park system, and that our “house” has served as his and friends’ housing, park office, and dispatch across several different National Parks. While the deer was more than kind in cooperating for my photo, he’s hardly unique here. On any given morning I see deer, some with fawns, or wild turkeys strolling past the window.
