ProRanger Philadelphia was established in 2009 as an academic and technical skills training and internship program that was cooperatively administered by the National Park Service and Temple University. In July 2022, NPS began hiring permanent law enforcement rangers through the Law Enforcement Hiring Initiative (known informally as “direct to FLETC”). No additional students will be accepted into the program.

Admin Week
I had the pleasure in shadowing the administrative department. We started off with orientation for new hires whether you came in for interpretations, maintenance, or even law enforcement
you have to participate in this mandatory orientation which talks about the do’s and dont’s of the park. They also we’re extremely focused on reminding them that safety is improving; especially in a park that has a lot of historical resources. You learn a lot based off how important being aware of the people and events happening around you.
I later went on to meet the head chair of administration Mr. Tom Rogers. He then went on to introduce me to his secretary Ms. Yolanda. Mr.Rogers explained to me that I would be helping in collecting money out all the donation boxes and counting it as well as taking it to the bank to deposit into independence funds. This was fun because I got to put my math skills to the test but actually see people give back to the pack and are so generous as well. This was a delightful opportunity and the department welcomed me with open arms.
Here I am Counting the Donations To The Park
